Anyone else seeing thinner dawn choruses

At 5:30 a.m. along Mill Creek this week, I counted 7 singing species where we had 12 last May; the riparian edge was recently mowed to the waterline. If you’ve pushed for wider no-mow buffers or seasonal windows in your area, what’s worked to protect nesting habitat and keep the chorus diverse?
