Reducing idle time and soil impact

We tied harvest starts to soil moisture thresholds (no go above 28%) and used pre-planned skid trails from LiDAR, which cut fuel use 11% in Q4 and dropped trail density from 22% to 16% on the north tract. Has anyone paired telematics idle alerts with crew bonuses, and did it outperform schedule-based controls?

We tied bonuses to operator‑level idle targets with JDLink: a “3‑minute idle” nudge on the head units plus a small kicker for crews under 10% beat fixed break schedules by about 7% fuel and about 18% idle time — think of it like a coffee timer for the iron. Caveat: geofence warm‑up areas and landing queues so cold starts and truck waits don’t count, or folks will hate it. Do you tweak the threshold on wetter days or keep one number?
