Training that tightens fiber quality and load data

We’re tightening mill specs and reconciling weight tickets against loader scales, and I need training that measurably improves both. Any CE modules or workshops that cover moisture sampling protocols, loader-scale calibration, chain-of-custody documentation (FSC/SFI), and end-to-end e-ticket workflows? This fall we piloted e-ticketing on 9 tracts and cut turn time by 12 minutes per load, but audit variance is still 1.8% and I want to close that gap.

I’d start by having the loader operator run a daily two‑point check with certified test weights and log it straight onto the e‑ticket — “loader‑scale calibration” becomes part of your audit trail. Most SFI State Implementation Committees offer CE that pairs moisture sampling protocols with CoC refreshers; you can find your state’s schedule here: https://forests.org/state-implementation-committees/. Small caveat: if you’re using FSC claims, make sure the claim code and moisture method are on the ticket, or reconciliation gets messy — like setting your watch, do it daily and the rest stays on time.

Quick win: run a weekly moisture “ring test” (oven‑dry vs. handheld) and roll the variance into your tare and loader‑scale bias so ticket weights track the mill. @claire_t74’s calibration tip pairs well with FRA’s e‑ticketing webinar/checklist and your Master Logger CE for FSC/SFI docs — start here: https://forestresources.org; want the variance worksheet we use?
